Heavy rains in Buchanan County has caused severe flooding. Dozens of people are unaccounted for and more than 100 homes are damaged.

A state of emergency was declared on Wednesday by Governor Glenn Youngkin  to handle devastating flood better.

No deaths have been reported by flooding, as per Buchanan County Sheriff's Office.

Hundreds of houses were without power on Wednesday.

Although there are 18 search and rescue are working, landslides and bad condition of roads were making the work difficult.

The authorities urged people to avoid driving unless very necessary.

In August 2021, the Buchanan County had suffered another flood damage when a hurricane partially hit the area.

The governor urged fellow Americans to pray for the area.
