Rishi Sunak,   won 118 votes in the fourth round of voting within the party to succeed Boris Johnson as the Prime Minister.

He was Former  Chancellor of the Exchequer (Finance Minister).

Who is Rishi Sunak?

Sunak was born to an Indian Punjabi family in Southampton area of UK. His father is a National Health Service general practitioner. His mother is a pharmacist.

Rishi Sunak studied in Stanford University.

He married Akshata Murthy, daughter of Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys (the Indian global software giant) in 2009.

His wife Akshata is richer than Queen Elizabeth. She owns family shares worth £430m.

Sunak was an Analyst for an Investment Bank earlier. He was fined in the Partygate scandal, for breaking the Covid 19 lockdown rules.

Rishi Sunak will be the first Indian origin PM for UK, if elected.
